December 7 – Gifts of Nature
December 7 @ 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM$5 – $10
Bring family and friends to Boxerwood to create outdoor decorations that feed the winter birds and cheer up your yard during our Gifts of Nature workshop.
Twist honeysuckle and grapevine into wreaths, then tie on handmade snacks, such as cranberry garlands, dried fruit kabobs, peanut-buttered pinecones, and citrus cups.
Our nature crafts table is stocked for making people presents, too! Turn mini gourds into tree ornaments and big ones into bird feeders. Make pet mice out of milkweed pods or create your own one-of-a-kind “gifts of nature.”
The fee to participate is $5/family for Boxerwood members, $10/family for non-members. Boxerwood will provide vines, cones, winter berries, gourds, and greenery, as well as suet, raffia, ribbon and other project supplies. Families are asked to bring one type of wildlife food, such as seeds, nuts, dried fruits, popcorn, or fresh cranberries to share with other participants.
No need to register – just drop in anytime between 1 and 5. The workshop will go on snow or shine, both indoors and out, so dress in layers. We’ll keep a fire going in the lodge and serve warm cider and cookies to keep everyone cozy.
