2019 Music in the Garden

Throughout the pandemic, Boxerwood has been a family-friendly spot to get outside and enjoy the beauty of each season when it seemed like our world had grown much smaller. Though we missed some of our popular events and attractions in 2020, Boxerwood is pleased to return to our summer Music in the Garden series.

Local and regional bands will perform twice a month this June through August. We welcome groups to picnic or enjoy food from Chef Donnelly and the Lex Mex Taco truck. In the spirit of Boxerwood’s mission to inspire people of all ages to be environmentally responsible stewards of the Earth, we recommend and request the use of reusable food containers and packing out all recyclables and garbage. Seeing the amount of waste we create and taking responsibility for where it ends up is one way of engaging with environmental stewardship.

Boxerwood will also offer some raffle items at several of the concerts. We will raffle off at least one of our popular Earth Machine backyard composters, some reusable picnic items, gift certificates to local businesses, and more. A $5 per adult entrance fee supports Boxerwood, but current Boxerwood members get in free. Children under 18 are also free. Each concert we pass the jar for donations for the great bands that perform.

This year will look a little bit different as we continue to keep ourselves and neighbors as safe as possible. Boxerwood will abide by the Virginia COVID-19 mandates for outdoor entertainment, and signs will remind folks to socially distance between groups.

Let’s create memories together with family, friends, and good music. This year’s music lineup includes rock, bluegrass, old-time, Celtic, and acoustic blues with local favorites and a few new bands sure to entertain.

The full schedule of dates and bands is available on our EVENTS page, and announcements on the Boxerwood Facebook and Instagram pages.  Also a big  shout out to our very generous sponsors for the 2021 season. Gold Level:  Earth Fire Spirit Pottery, Kendal at Lexington, Virginia Technology Services (VTS); Green Level: Cornerstone Bank, Just Games, Mariner Media, LexMex Tacos, and Walkabout Outfitters; Orange Level: BARC Connects.
