Plein Air Watercolor Painting In the Garden

PLEIN AIR WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP

Instructor: Karen Stanley, Boxerwood staff member and watercolor artist

Meet at the pavilion! Follow the gravel driveway down from the main parking lot towards the Lodge. The pavilion is on your left, directly across from the barn and the bright yellow forsythia bushes.
Springtime is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and unleash some creativity! Painting outdoors, or “en plein air,” can be a deeply rewarding experience, especially amidst the blooming flowers and lush greenery of at Boxerwood. Join us, rain or shine. Teens and adults are welcome to join the workshop. No painting experience is necessary!
The workshop will include a mix of tutorials on watercolor painting techniques, discussions on picture composition, and hands-on painting sessions in the garden. All materials will be provided. If you prefer your own seat or paints, you are welcome to bring them. We also suggest you bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
Additionally, artists who prefer to work independently are welcome to join the event and paint plein air around the garden at their own pace. Overall, it promises to be a delightful and enriching experience for both seasoned artists and beginners alike. Don’t miss the chance to capture the vibrant beauty of spring in the serene setting of Boxerwood.
