Where: Meet us in the field where we host Music in the Garden!
In our endeavor to restore the landscape with native species, we’re celebrating earth day by welcoming six hybrid American chestnut tree saplings to Boxerwood! These trees symbolize a significant part of our natural heritage, which was tragically affected by the chestnut blight in the 1920s and 30s. Through collaborative efforts among various organizations and universities, resilient strains of American chestnuts have been developed, marking a hopeful chapter in their revival.
No registration is required; simply join us at 1:00 pm to contribute to our tree-planting initiative. Some bare root trees and shrubs will be available for you to take home, too. Let’s unite in safeguarding the Earth and nurturing its biodiversity for future generations.
