Boxerwood is now the proud owner of a pre-loved Ford F-150. We’ve been looking for a pickup for some years, but have had a hard time finding one we could afford. Just before Christmas we received our wonderful present. We are very grateful for the help of a Boxerwood board member for locating this find and for the Secret Santa who covered the purchase.

Our new-to-us pickup will help ease a variety of garden tasks ranging from mulch hauling to recycling runs. It’s also a critical piece of infrastructure for our education programs. For the past fifteen years, Boxerwood educators have been using their own vehicles to haul hundreds of pounds of boots, nets, and other supplies for all our river programs. Elise and Hannah became experts in tightly packing their vehicles, and all went well . . . until Elise sold her end-of-the-line Subaru. The arrival of the F-150 has thus averted a bit of an impending calamity.
Among its shiny attributes, the F-150 is also 4-wheel drive and can pull a big trailer – look for the Boxerwood pickup pulling our float at the next Christmas parade! Thank you again to our Secret Santa. You’ve made a big difference.
