Building community with the PALS program

Our PALS group will engage in nature-based play and learning that helps develop confidence, self-esteem, empathy and connection to the natural world. Designed as a complement to formal learning, this enrichment program also incorporates literacy, science and art while leaving time for unstructured free play. Children will explore the spring awakening at Boxerwood and the different creatures that inhabit our woodland garden.

  • When: PALS runs every Friday for 10 weeks from March 12 - May 14, 2021 from 8:30-1 p.m. We can accommodate up to twelve children currently enrolled in gr. K-2.
  • Fees: $390 per child ($365 members). Need-based scholarships available.

  • Protocols: Children will spend all their time outdoors, with the exception of extreme weather and bathroom breaks. All participants will follow appropriate covid safety  protocols.

  • Enrollment Process: This is a 2-step process for unusual times . . .

    1. If you are interested in signing up your child for Spring PALS simply email Hannah West, hannah@boxerwood.org Do not send payment. Let Hannah know the name of your child, age, gender, and whether you are seeking need-based aid. Boxerwood aspires to build a diverse group of learners; is there anything else you’d like us to know?

    2. We will build the spring 2021 PALS roster from among those interested, guided by values of equity and diversity. We will update all families about their status with PALS by March 3. Those joining PALS for Spring 2021 will then complete an online registration and make payments at that time.
