Spring Series 2018: The Buzz about Bees
Visiting us from Lansing, Michigan is honey bee and insect expert Dr. Adam Ingrao. Adam recently completed his PhD from Michigan State University in Entomology and teaches beekeeping to military veterans through MSU Extension’s Heroes to Hives program. He and his wife also run a 2-acre urban farm in Lansing and a 40-acre farm in northern Michigan where they manage over 30 bee colonies.
In our time together, Adam will share his story of how he became obsessed with honeybees, where that journey has taken him, and what he’s learned along the way.
Come meet someone excited about pollinators and beekeeping. Learn more about the history and value of honey bees, and the challenges they now face.
Then take a walk with Adam to investigate Boxerwood’s beehives and find out what’s happening in the hives this time of year.
