Seed Saving – Peggy Dyson-Cobb

October 14 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Why save seed? How do we know when seed is ripe? How do we harvest seed? Then what? And what is required for good storage of seeds?

Peggy will address these basic questions about a skill set that has enabled humans to multiply and prosper since agriculture began. Bring your curiosity about the miracle of seeds!

Peggy is besotted with plants – as an herbalist, gardener, native plant lover, and uncontrollable seed–saver – and loves sharing what she has learned about all of it!

  • Each program is limited to 20 participants. Dress appropriately and consider bringing a small portable stool or chair for your comfort. We will start from the Boxerwood Lodge (963 Ross Road) just outside Lexington.
  • Parking is free for members of Boxerwood and $5/car for non-members.
  • Programs are free, but suggested free-will donation for each program is $12/person to support maintenance of Boxerwood’s gardens.
