April 14 – The Word for World: Poetry, Observation, & Writing with Leah Naomi Green

April 14, 2019 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

It will be a venture into eco-poetry in which participants will discuss the practices of writing and attention, and will engage in creative writing activities to bind the human experience with the greater-than-human world. Green is the author of The More Extravagant Feast (forthcoming 2020) and her Chapbook, The Ones We Have, received the 2012 Flying Trout Chapbook prize.  Green received an MFA from the University of California, Irvine and teaches English and Environmental Studies at Washington and Lee University.  She has a history of Boxerwood volunteerism, and her husband, Ben Eland, is the Boxerwood Garden and Facilities Manager.  They live, homestead, and grow food at Common Ground Community in Rockbridge County.

Please e-mail info@boxerwood.org or call (540) 463-2697 to register for each of these workshops.  The programs are free, but suggested free-will donation for each program is $12/person to support care and upkeep of Boxerwood’s gardens.
