Our second-annual eventRationale: to bring nature and artists together in process-oriented collaborations
Our Artists: - solo, in collaboration, and families - created site-based artworks that drew their inspiration and form from nature. There were tangled assemblages, leafy sculptures and other more ephemeral works of art.
Artisans' Market, Music, and More: In the Market and silent auction, festival-goers could purchase and bid on items hand-crafted by area artisans. The event also included some perennial favorites – the Recycle Bus, free Japanese Maples seedlings; SPCA pound pets looking for a family; music by the Poison Bottom Boys. Elizabeth Daystar, Suzanne Friedrichs, and Lamine Sylla and Mirabai McLeod; plus improvisational dancers from W&L. Families brought their own picnics or purchased snacks from the Boxerwood Bakery and a Campus Kitchen Lemonade Stand. Read more about EarthArt and the importance of the arts. You can make a special contribution to the EarthArt fund to honor Hunter Mohring, our founding Executive Steward.
